One of the most precious gifts a mother receives is her children, as stated many times in the bible children are gifts from god. A mother is the first to bond with her children and is the first one to say I will die for this child. As Jesus died for his children. We are to train our children and show them the right path to take and as they grow old pray that they will no go astray. We are to teach them morals and values, and instill in them they can do anything they put their mind to. You know there are people (adults) out there that will try to tare down everything you have instilled in your child and you have to reassure them they are doing right and can do anything.
Moving from Alabama was not a mistake for me and my family but will soon show trouble with my children. My children are athletic and always have been but the move here started showing them different. Cody has been a ball player since he was 2 and I cant get him to stop. Now I am not saying he is the best player out there but the kid can play some ball. One day before practice he came through the door from school crying saying he was not going back to ball. As a mother my heart broke because I knew this is where he wanted to be. So I had to stand up and call the coach out on what he was doing. We have people that takes roles of coaches and teachers that will make your child fill useless in a sec. You as a parent has to stand up and remember God gave you this gift, this precious little flower and even though storms come and try to kill it off we have to protect it and just keep nurturing and pouring all your love into it. As Cody reached Middle school he tried out for the baseball team and was rejected once again. Now came the hard part listening to him sob and question me as to why I moved him from Alabama where the coaches were fair. Once again my motherly instinct kicked in all I could do is comfort him and teach him we moved here for a reason and it wasn't baseball. He got over it, lived and come back the next year to try out again and made the team.
I say all this for one reason. My oldest child Jasmine even is one who encourages her peers and tells them they can do it.
Children are gifts and we must show them the love and support they deserve. If you are a parent, teacher, coach or just a figure in the community chose your words wisely. Take time out with the younger generation and show them they can do anything they set out to do. You don't know what kind of home a child comes from so you must start doing what is right. We must invest into our future and if we are always putting them down by stereo typing them we will never move forward. So start today and love a child they are the most precious gifts we have.
